The Friends' visit to the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) Headquarters will give you a ‘behind the scenes’ opportunity to hear from key researchers and other expert personnel about current scientific and related programs that seek to answer the big questions for Antarctic science and global climate.
The AAD, part of the Australian Government’s Department of the Environment and Energy, leads Australia’s Antarctic program. Supporting research in some of the most remote and hostile locations on the planet requires a comprehensive logistical capability that involves sea, air and ground transport, and year-round research stations.
All activities will be held at the AAD’s theatrette, located in the Frank Hurley Building, adjacent to the visitors’ car park.
