Why do whales strand? What is the response to stranding on Tasmanian shores?

Join us to hear Dr Kris Carlyon from the Wildlife and Marine Section of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment talk about whale stranding, what we know about why these happen, how we respond and the experience of scientists involved in such events.

While the public face of TMAG is its collection and its exhibitions on display in the galleries, it’s important to also remember the great contribution that TMAG scientists make to a wide range of disciplines in conjunction with their colleagues in other organisations. This is a great opportunity to hear about an area of marine research right on our doorstep.
