In this floor talk TMAG Curator of Decorative Arts Peter Hughes takes us for a walk through some of the highlights of the TMAG textiles collection including: 18th and 19th century samplers, examples of stump work and contemporary works by artists like Tara Badcock and Hermie Cornelisse.
Members will see photographs of some of the items held in storage and there will be an opportunity to see a small number of the pieces ‘in real life’. Many of these items are too fragile to be on display on a daily basis — this is a rare opportunity to see and hear about them.
