SIMON GROVE
Seasonal saunters in the south: on nature, autumn, and a Tasmanian book-writing journey
A born naturalist, Simon Grove set out on a journey of discovery that took him from one-time ‘curator’ of England’s smallest public seashell museum (in his bedroom), to professional curator of invertebrates at TMAG.
Simon will talk about his Tasmanian journey and the writing of his book Seasons in the South: a Tasmanian naturalist’s journey of discovery — and recovery. Simon will speak to us about both discovery and recovery as he describes putting together this beautiful and engaging book.
‘Simon Grove comes from the great tradition of naturalists who see the bigger picture, from the tiniest freshwater shrimp to the soaring wedge-tailed eagle. Nothing escapes his gaze, and his pen.’
—Donald Knowler, ‘On the Wing’ columnist, Sunday Tasmanian
The talk will be held in the Royal Society Room at TMAG (entry via the admin door in Davey Street).
