Due to the overwhelming response to this activity and the large number of members who missed out, we have secured a second tour of Shene on Sunday 25 May.
A notice is being sent to those who missed out on the first tour. Depending on the uptake by those members, a wider notification may be sent.
Granted by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1819, Shene Estate showcases Gothic architecture and convict craftsmanship at its finest. Since acquiring Shene in 2007 the Kernke family has been working to conserve this historic site. They are passionate about conserving Shene to the highest standards and sharing the stories of the property’s rich and colourful past.
We have arranged an exclusive private tour of the Shene Estate guided by the Kernkes, including the homestead, stables, barn, servants quarters, dairy and outbuildings. Following the tour, we will be treated to a ‘Butler’s Bounty’ afternoon tea served in the historic 1851 stables.
Proceeds from tours are used to fund the conservation works.
Members $40 Non-members $45 including afternoon tea
