Behind the scenes at the Playhouse
Ever wondered what it’s like to stage a show or how the magic all comes together? Behind the Scenes is a unique opportunity to visit the historic Playhouse Theatre, gain insight into how a local theatre society operates and meet the team behind its latest production, a comedy entitled The Last Resort.
Set in the Mountain Village Retirement Village, The Last Resort was written by local playwrights Belinda Bradley and Franz Docherty (the team behind the ABC crime drama Savage River), based on a story by Belinda Bradley, Franz Docherty and Clayton Jacobson.
A complementary drink and nibbles will be served before we settle in to hear about Hobart Rep and the theatre’s history, engage in an interesting and informative panel discussion and Q&A session with the team behind the show, and have a virtual tour of the theatre.
Join us to gain some insights into theatre craft and a great new show opening on 21 October. The proceeds are being donated towards the operation of this delightful local theatre.
