The John Elliott Classics Museum
University Centre, UTAS, Churchill Ave, Sandy Bay
The Friends of TMAG invite you to a talk and tour by Neil Apted, Keeper of the John Elliott Classics Museum. The museum houses a significant collection of ancient artefacts from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Etruria and Rome, including 300 artefacts and 500 ancient coins. The museum is open to the public and used as a research and teaching resource for the university, community, and school groups.
Parking is available in the main carpark off Churchill Avenue. Access to the museum is through the main doors at the front of the University Centre, a route which does involve a lot of stairs. Any members who find stairs difficult can access the museum by a service lift through the entrance to Lazenby’s Café below.
This is a FREE event, but as numbers are limited it is open to Friends members only.
